PROGRAM 3:00 PM: GRAVESTONE CARVERS OF NORTHEAST CONNECTICUT

The Pomfret Historical Society (PHS) invites the public to an opening day celebration on April 11th. The Old Town House (OTH), built in 1841, is one of only handful of Town Houses built in the 1840’s still standing in Southern New England. An emblem of participatory democracy, the OTH with its vaulted ceiling and fifteen large windows, is the perfect venue for the monthly educational programs, concert series, and exhibits celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Stop by to visit the Old Town House exhibits, Art show, and refreshments followed by the program about 18th century gravestone carvers including Pomfret’s Richard Kimball and his son, Libbeus who fought in the Revolutionary War.
